Jesy Nelson finally welcomes twin babies home in time for very special occasion

The former Little Mix star, 34, had a turbulent time during pregnancy, to say the least, having spent most of it hospitalised. She previously shared that the twins were ‘living off one placenta’ due to pre-stage TTTS (twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome), which thankfully cleared up after surgery. However, Jesy still required close monitoring, and when her daughters were born, they had to spend time in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).

But now, things are looking up, with Jesy informing fans today that her girls are finally home—and the timing couldn’t have been more perfect.Taking to Instagram, where she boasts 9.7million followers, Jesy shared an adorable black-and-white snap of babies Ocean Jade and Story Monroe lying down in a play gym as she gazed at them lovingly.

‘My babies made it home for my birthday 🥹🤍’, her caption read. The comments were quickly flooded with both messages of congratulations and well wishes for Jesy’s birthday, which is also today (June 14).‘So happy you guys are all home together❤️❤️’, commented @sabrina_dias03. @leehabowmanxo said: ‘they are both so beautiful! Happy birthday Jesy 🤍’ ‘I knew they would make it home to be with you, precious miracle girls they did it for you. They love you so much and wanted to be with mummy on her special day. Happy birthday angel! 🥹🥹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹’, penned @jesynlatin. Jesy shares the twins with her boyfriend, fellow musician Zion Foster.

They began dating in January 2022 but split last year, just before releasing their joint single, Mine. After a brief period apart, they got back together. Jesy’s latest announcement comes after she made a heartbreaking admission about feeling unable to ‘protect’ her babies.

On May 25, she wrote on social media: ‘Nothing or no one will ever be able to prepare you as a parent for NICU. It’s the most scary overwhelming feeling of emotions not being able to feel like you can protect your babies. ‘Naturally as a mother you just want to hold them and comfort them when they cry but you can’t because there are what feels like a million wires coming out of them and tubes and masks in the way with people poking and prodding them it breaks your heart into a million pieces.‘But slowly as the days go by and they get stronger and wires start to come away, moments like this feel like a dream.’ Alongside a photo of her cradling the sisters, she added: ‘Having them reunited for the first time ever today was the most magical feeling I will never be able to describe 🥹 the strongest little girls I’ve ever known who really do have the most inspiring story to tell 🤍’

Jesy was inundated with supportive messages from fellow celebrity mums, such as Kym Marsh, Stacey Dooley, and Jessie J. The Boyz hitmaker has documented her whole pregnancy and the early stages of motherhood for the world to see, including the euphoric highs and crushing lows.

Jesy, who left Little Mix in 2022 after struggling with her mental health, shared several tearful update videos with her followers, having feared her babies ‘could die’ just months ago. However, she and Zion remained positive, repeatedly stressing how ‘grateful’ and ‘blessed’ they felt to still have their little girls growing.

The Brit Award winner also heaped thanks on her fans for their kind messages and advice ahead of Ocean Jade and Story Monroe’s birth slightly earlier than planned. Jesy, who had been told her waters could’ve broken at any moment, hence she remained in hospital, gave birth at 31 weeks and five days.

While the new mum is yet to offer a full backstory to her daughters’ names, a source has already quashed online speculation that Ocean’s middle name was a nod to former bandmate Jade Thirlwall. An insider informed Metro that the moniker is instead likely to be in tribute to Jesy’s sister.
